At Aqua Bear Plumbing & Drain, we know a thing or two about repiping. It is always our goal to repair your pipes first, but sometimes it is more economical to simply replace the pipe. Whether you have a slab leak and need a pipe reroute, or you need a PEX water supply line replaced, we have the experience to handle your repiping needs.
Different Types of Re-Pipes
There are many different types of plumbing repipes. In fact, there are over 20 different types. Here are the most common ones:
This is the most common type of plumbing repipe because it’s the least expensive and easiest to complete. It involves removing the old piping and installing new pipes using drywall cutouts. This method is great for small jobs or if you want to do it yourself.
This type of repipe uses PVC pipe instead of copper or galvanized steel pipes. PVC pipes are made from polyvinyl chloride plastic that is flexible and durable making them a popular choice for home use as well as commercial applications like restaurants or hotels where water pressure is high due to multiple fixtures being used at once (i.e., dishwashers, washing machines).
Copper has been used for centuries because it conducts heat well which makes it ideal for heating systems like radiators or boilers where heat needs to travel through long distances from source (like furnace) to destination (like bathroom faucet). Copper can also be used for non-heating applications such as plumbing lines in your home’s walls which means no more worrying about freezing temperatures during winter months!
PEX tubing is often used for water supply lines instead of copper. PEX is much less expensive and can easily bend, unlike copper. Replacing PEX lines is quite simple and can be done by most plumbers. We specialize in all types of re-pipes, including PEX>
